Albert Barseghyan is representing the Sikh Human Rights Group (UN reg.) in the United Nations (New York and Geneva). Albert holds an advanced master’s degree in European studies from the College of Europe. His experience includes work for the University of Luxembourg on citizen participation, the Inter-Parliamentary Union on strengthening the role of parliaments in diplomatic negotiations and the European Parliament on making EU trade agreements compatible with the block’s social and environmental commitments. At present, he leads Sikh Human Rights Group efforts in integrating SDGs as the global and universally applicable frame of reference for sustainable development into the work of their affiliate initiatives in the UK, India, South Africa and Brazil, as well as advocates for stronger mechanisms of the review and greater engagement of civil society in SDG processes.
